IMPORTANT PARENT INFORMATION CONCERNING
BAND TRIP/CONTEST TO SIX FLAGS OVER TEXAS

1. WHEN? The Dan F. Long Symphonic & Concert Bands will compete at a contest on Thursday, May 7 in conjunction with a trip to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor on Saturday, May 9, 2009.

2. WHERE? The contest portion is to be held at a site to be announced.  
 The remainder of the time will be spent at Six Flags and possibly a mall (pending the schedule).

3. REQUIRED? The competition, yes.

 


4. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

A student must pass all classes (according to No Pass/No Play) during the THIRD NINE WEEK PERIOD in order to be eligible*. Students who receive an Incomplete (I) in any subject will be ineligible until the "I" is replaced with a passing grade. This must be done before the trip.  (Progress Report 4A will not effect eligibility for this trip.)

Symphonic & Concert Band members must attend all scheduled practices and performances during the semester.

 


5. SHOULD INELIGIBLE STUDENTS PAY FOR THE TRIP?

Yes. If an ineligible student becomes eligible, he will have to pay anyway. If a student becomes ineligible and has paid part or all of their trip, a refund will be issued. Fund raising profit will not be refunded to ineligible students.

6. WHAT IS NOT PAID ON THE TRIP?

Lunch, supper, snacks.


7. HOW MUCH DOES THE TRIP COST AND HOW MUCH IS OWED?

All Concert & Symphonic Band members pay a maximum $75 (fees are not definite at this time).

Please pay any balance due as soon as possible. A complete itinerary and details of the trip will be available for you in early April. Below is a form which is mailed to every parent with balance due information.

SIX FLAGS BAND TRIP GENERAL INFORMATION PACKET

The info packet linked below was passed-out to 7th & 8th grade band members no sooner than April 21 outside of class.  Students must attend one of the trip meetings.  The cover sheet is personalized for each student and not shown.  Parents must sign the slip at the bottom of the cover page and students must return it in order to sign-up for a bus.
