REGION INFORMATION
FOR SATURDAY, NOV. 13

Region auditions continue on Saturday, Nov. 13 in Phase II for the following sections:  Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, and Percussion.

Non-phase instrument also attending include Oboe, Bassoon, Bass Clarinet, Contraclarinet, Tenor Sax, Bari. Sax.

Below are the audition times for those qualified:

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS FOR LAST YEAR AND WILL BE UPDATED ONCE DETAILS ARE DEFINITE:  Audition rooms may run ahead of schedule so I recommend being early.  Those with early audition times should arrive at Fowler Middle School of Frisco (which is in Plano at McDermott and Coit) 30 minutes early.  Auditions begin at 8:30am, so those with 9:00 times should play on-schedule.  Check-in, warmup, then go audition when you are ready.  Don't rush.  Turn off your cell phone before going in the audition room. 

Room numbers and general schedule for each instrument

Do NOT audition until you have done a warm-up!  The judges do not want you to play without warming-up properly, even if the room is running ahead of schedule.  The monitors do NOT always understand this!

Each student will play the following:

Major scale
Major scale
Chromatic
Lyrical etude cut (probably different from Phase I)
Technical etude cut (probably different from Phase I)
Sightreading

Students may leave once they have played.  Nothing will be posted at the school.  Results will posted on this web site as soon as possible (on Saturday!).

Although details are not complete it is normal to expect the gym to be the warmup area, the cafeteria is a waiting area, and a concession area will be open.

Note: This audition is at a different school than Phase One.  Driving directions are shown at the bottom of this information.

TRANSPORTATION...We ask parents to provide transportation for their son/daughter so they do not have to stay at the school all day...if you need a ride to and/or from Blalack MS, please let Mr. Black know as soon as possible.
