IMPORTANT PARENT INFORMATION CONCERNING
BAND TRIP/CONTEST TO SIX FLAGS OVER TEXAS/HURRICANE HARBOR

1. WHEN? The Dan F. Long Symphonic & Concert 1 Bands will compete at a contest on Thursday, May 5 in conjunction with a trip to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor on Friday, June 3, 2011. (Concert 2 does not participate.)

2. WHERE? The contest portion is to be held at a site to be announced and possibly followed by a stop at Crystal's Pizza or something similar. Hurricane Harbor will be in June.

3. REQUIRED? The competition, yes.

4. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
A student must pass all classes according to No Pass/No Play during the THIRD NINE WEEK GRADING PERIOD in order to be eligible. Students who receive an incomplete (I) in any subject will be ineligible until the "I" is replaced with a passing grade. This must be done before the trip. (A student who fails a class on the Thir Nine Weeks report card may regain eligibility on Progress Report 4A.)

Symphonic & Concert 1 band members must attend all scheduled practices and performances during the semester.

5. SHOULD INELIGIBLE STUDENTS PAY FOR THE TRIP?
Yes. If an ineligible student becomes eligible, he will have to pay anyway. If a student becomes ineligible after paying, a refund will be issued.

6. WHAT IS NOT PAID ON THE TRIP?
Lunch, supper, snacks.

7. HOW MUCH DOES THE TRIP COST AND HOW MUCH IS OWED?
All Concert1 & Symphonic members pay a maximum $75. Fee are NOT definite at this time. Fees will be due no later than May 6.

A balance due sheet will be posted in the band hall (by ID number) and also on this web site under the accounts menu. A complete itinerary and details of the trip will be available in April.

The info packet linked below was passed-out to 7th & 8th grade band members (who may attend the trip) during late April.  The cover sheet is personalized for each student and not shown.  Parents must sign the slip at the bottom of the cover page and students must return it in order to sign-up for a bus.
