The former band hall is completely empty. Renovation on this room is beginning. 5/30/2002 Everything will be moved out of the current band hall so that renovation of it may begin (for the new orchestra room). set. 7/2001 Construction fence erected. 10/23/2000 Third meeting with architects. This meeting to discuss specifics of the acoustics and overall design proposal. 10/17/2000 Second meeting with architects. Architects present preliminary drawings of additions/renovations. Another meeting is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 23 to discuss specifics. More info to follow. 9/19/2000 First meeting with architects held at Dan F. Long. Proposal presented to group architects, district representatives and fine arts staff. Fall 1998 Mr. Black submits construction proposal with the help of Jim McDaniel, CFBISD Director of Fine Arts and other staff. Construction proposal includes a new band hall area, remodeled orchestra room, proposed art room, proposed drama room, remodeled cafeteria, possible stage area, and an enlarged library. Construction is planned for Phase III (2000+). 10/3/1998 Bond proposal passes.
