The Dan F. Long Band Club has existed since 1998 originally as part of the Newman Smith Area Band Club. It split off as an independent organization in 2000 with help from Patti O'Connell. Meetings occur a few times a year prior to performances.

Our activities do not require a great deal of parental assistance but there are times during the year when help is needed. Those who desire to volunteer in some way note their availability on the band of "The Signing Page" sent home with the beginner students at the start of the school year. Seventh and eighth grade parent may email their availability to blackj@cfbisd.edu or send a written note to the school.
