ALL-REGION BAND...WHAT IS IT?

In addition to the All-District Band, is the All-Region Band. Any interested band member may also tryout for this
group providing they have adequately prepared the audition material.

Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD middle schools are a part of the Region XXIV All Region Band. The region includes
middle schools from the following school districts: Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Lewisville ISD,
Grapevine-Colleyille ISD, Carroll ISD, Frisco ISD, and any private schools in the region. Due to the size of the Region it is split into east and west zones. CFB, Frisco, Lake Dallas, and Little Elm makeup the east zone.

Each zone will qualify three bands. The east zone bands are scheduled to perform at Frisco Liberty HS on the Saturday after school resumes in January.

Region band auditions are handled in two phases for larger instrument groups on two different days.

The two phase instrument groups currently include flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet, f horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion.

Non-phase instrument groups include oboe, bassoon, bass clarinet, contra-clarinet, tenor sax, and bari sax. Non-phase instruments audition on the same day as the Phase II groups.

Rarely, instrument groups may be changed from phase to non-phase (or vice-versa) once audition entries are finalized. The whole purpose of phase auditions is due to large numbers of entries in a specific instrument group.

Clinicians for the bands are well-respected and successful directors.

Transportation will be available for students if necessary.
