May 15, Tuesday - Audition recordings (winds, percussion) due from ALL 6th & 7th grade band members. School instruments should be returned. (You will still have access to the instruments, but they must be in the band hall for inventory and repair checks.)
May 30, Wed (2-4pm) -Pool party for band/choir/orchestra (more details below).

May 19, Saturday (tentative) - 8th graders attending NSHS will have a introductory marching camp & picnic to prepare for next year. Go to www.NSHSBand.org for details or pickup a handout at school.
May 7, Monday (tentative) - Creekview HS band parent and student meeting. Creekview HS auditorium, 6:00-7:00pm. The CHS Jazz Band will perform after the meeting 7:15-8:15. (www.creekviewband.org)

May 30 - Symphonic, concert, cadet audition results posted by this date.
May 31, Thursday - School instrument check-out will be handled during the last two weeks of school. If you have not received yours, you should check with a director.
June 1, Friday - Concert 1 and symphonic to Hurricane Harbor.
9:00am -Report to band hall
(money for lunch, snacks, bring sunscreen)
7:30pm - Arrival at Dan F. Long after Hurricane Harbor.

SCHOOL INSTRUMENT RETURN~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Oboe, Bassoon, Bass Clarinet, Contrabass Clarinet, Tuba, Baritone, Euphonium, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax, and miscellaneous others)
If you have a school instrument at home, it needs to be returned the night of the concert to the band hall. Be sure your name is on the case! Other school instruments will be checked the day following the concert.
If you have any outstanding fees before the end of school.
If you will be at Dan F. Long next year, you may checkout an instrument for the summer during the last two weeks of school.
POOL PARTY~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The pool party date is Wednesday, May 30 (2-4pm) at the Rosemeade Pool Complex. 6th gd. brass and percussion bring a bag of chips; 6th grade clarinets bring cups; 6th grade flute/oboe/basson bring cookies; 7th & 8th grade band members bring one liter of soft drink. The fee is $1 per student/child with a maximum of $4 per family. Parents are admitted FREE.
This is a closed party. Band/choir/orchestra members may attend.
Immediate family (brothers/sisters) in the same home may attend only if a parent is present at the pool.

Remember 6th & 7th grade audition tapes are due May 15. (Symphonic applications turn-in by the deadline of the tape.) |
